2 out of 5 stars wrong product   April 15, 2009

Amazon didn't send me the schleich castle!, they send me another one made of wood and completely different from the "schleich" one which is supposed to be plastic. I openned it when I was in Argentina because it was a present for my grandson and didnt open the box in the States, so I cannot return it by now. I'm very dissapointed! The one I now have is fun but you have to put all the parts together every time the kid plays...

5 out of 5 stars Great Castle for the kids and adults   April 3, 2009

First word out of my mouth when I opened the box was: WOW!

This castle is made from a very hard plastic material with an excellent level of detail to it. The kids can not only play with their Schleich toys with it, but it has been used with everything else from the My Little Pony's with my daughter to the Playmobil's from my son. In short, great buy and not just a one trick pony toy and it is up to the children's imagination as to how they want to use it.

My only complaint: I know this is a "German" company and their quality level for toys is supposed to be "superior", and maybe a little more costly, but these toys are STILL made in China and the pricing should better reflect this fact. The whole line of Schleich Knights comes at a premium cost and I think more kids (parents) would purchase this line of toys if they could just reduce their costs a little.

My 7yr old loves the castle. He has tons of knights as well as catapults and such that go with it. it is fun listening to the different stories he thinks up while he is playing.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful castle   January 6, 2009
Loving Grand-dad
We first saw the Schleich castle, knights, and accessories in a very high end Fifth Avenue toy store. These are absolutely beautiful pieces, made of heavy plastic, very realistic looking. They are also available, somewhat cheaper, at chain department stores but are yet cheaper through Amazon. The castle requires no assembly and was a highlight of Christmas morning for my grandson (aged 6). Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Schleich Castle   September 29, 2008

My five year old son had many Schleich knights and soldiers, etc., so we finally got him the castle. He has had a lot of fun since receiving it for his 5th birthday. He and his 8 year old sister both enjoy playing with it. They also have used the castle as a home for some of their other toys as well (dinosaurs, dolls, plastic animals, etc.). They have gotten really creative in how they use and arrange the castle. The castle arrived in perfect condition and on time. This was a concern for me since it was a birthday gift. I am extremely pleased with the company who sent it. I love this toy because it is educational and I have been able to teach my children about history, and now they have an interest in the Medeival times. We have bought many Schleich toys and have been very pleased with the detail and quality of each item. If your child has a good imagination and enjoys pretending, then this is a great toy for them. If your child is used to lots of t.v. and video games, this might not be a very good choice (it is very expensive) and you might just be wasting your money. I hope this review will be helpful because it is a big investment for a toy. Have a great day!
