Product Description

If there's one thing you've learned as a wedding photographer, it's this: When it comes to weddings, real life isn't good enough. Without Photoshop to turn gray skies blue, make red eyes clear, and transform not-so-storybook events into fairytale affairs, you'd be in a heap of trouble. Here to ensure that you use your most valuable tool to full effect is a unique book-and-DVD kit that doubles your learning power. In the full-color printed handbook, you'll find complete instructions for creating unique photo layouts from scratch, while on the DVD you’ll discover how to create reusable storybook wedding templates. Uniting both mediums is author Scott Kelby's easy-to-follow format and fun, fast narrative. Between the disc and guide, you'll will learn how to use Photoshop to correct image color, remove blemishes, change backgrounds, create sepia-toned prints, tint images and more as you discover how to employ custom layouts, create re-usable templates, and produce storybook wedding pages.

2 out of 5 stars Nice Packaging, but Not Much Substance   July 11, 2008

I bought this package thinking that it would have some really good techniques on retouching wedding photos and when I got it, the book and DVD only covered basic Photoshop techniques that are applied to wedding photos. I would recommend this package to beginners, but for the mid to expert Photoshop users; I recommend passing on this.

5 out of 5 stars Well presented, easy to follow   March 19, 2007

I purchased this to learn how to make reusable templates for photobooks -- not necessarily for wedding photos. I have found the DVD is easy to use -- the visual quality could be better, but it suffices. I found Kelby's instructions clear and concise. I appreciated the use of short-cut keys. I stopped & started the DVD while trying out the techniques and created a library of templates. I use a PC, and unlike "Mac Killer" did not find the difference in the screens between PC and the Mac to be an issue.

1 out of 5 stars Average presentation, Average techniques, MAC Snob!   August 27, 2006

As of August,06 the techniques here are at best average, and
presented in the same fashion. To worst part is that it
is presented on a Mac, and of course the controls are different
and even some displays on the layers pallette are different.
It galls me to no end the Mac snobs that make presentations to a predominantly PC world.
As of 2005, Mac had a 5.8% market share in the U.S. and 2.2% worldwide(source siliconvalley.com)
Like most PC users, I wish the Mac computers DIE soon, so there
will be uniformity of platforms.

DIE Mac, DIE!

4 out of 5 stars Easy to follow   July 28, 2006

The DVD is a bit fuzzy, but the instructions are clear, moves at a good pace, and the trainer is pleasant to listen to. There are twelve lessons, each containing 7 to 12 steps, so they are quick and have both pictures and text. This book got me aquainted with the possibilities of Photoshop and enabled me to start doing my own creative work.

Scott Kelby has done it once again! The interactive video along with the guide has taught me great new techniques for photoshop. Although it is aimed at wedding photos, I have used the techniques for special effects on other themes. I love Scotts method of teaching, no nonsense, easy to follow, and the end result is always beautiful!! This combo kit is just like attending a premium seminar. This dvd and guide has become one of my favorites! Lisa Gregory
