From the supplier: NeXt Inc introduces four new workstations especially suitable for multimedia applications and all based on the Motorola 68040 processor. The low-end, $5,000 NeXTstation offers a 2.88Mbyte 3.5-inch floppy disk drive, a 105Mbyte hard disk, 340Mbyte capacity optional disk drive, 8Mbytes of RAM expandable to 32Mbytes, a mouse, NeXTstep 2.0 system software and a monochrome monitor. The $8,000 NeXTstation Color adds a MegaPixel 16-inch Color display and Sound Box. The $8,000 NeXTcube includes three NeXTbus expansion slots and is designed to be a network server, with memory expandable to 64Mbytes. NeXTdimension is available either as a $4,000 board for the NeXTcube or as a full system. To the NeXTcube, the NeXTdimension adds 32-bit PostScript in color. All four workstations have large monitors that allow for clear viewing of multiple windows.
