totally cool cd December 14, 2005 freddie (Cleveland, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think that this is an artist trying to do something different and new. I do think it is a bit funny, it makes you smile. But on the whole I actually think this is good. I would buy it new, just to support this guy-I mean, in the grand scheme of things saving 2 bucks on a used copy isn't that big a deal.
well, it's something... December 3, 2005 Sally Holt (maine) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I work at a college radio station and we received this CD for review a few weeks ago. Today we actually sat down to review a few of our late adds... I saved this CD from the discard pile, and I'll tell you why. It is insane. To be honest, I thought it was a joke... something some kid recorded in his dorm room on a crappy tape recorder with a Casio keyboard. To be fair, Mizar can obviously play piano/organ... I'm not going to go out of my way to knock his abilities in that area. The singing is another story... I can't exactly explain it... Sort of a crazy foreign accent (Italian?)... and, so weird... these bizarre little clicks he makes with his tongue. The mixing on this "album" leaves much to be desired, as I have mentioned. I have yet to listen to it with headphones, but I have read reviews that complain of the organ being on the right, and the voice being on the left. BAD. As a joke, this album is great. I have the belief that indie kids will listen to and find amusement in anything. If you want to get a real kick out of something, do give this album a try, but don't spend $15 on it. and Mizar buddy, if you are reading, much respect for what you are doing, whatever that may be.
